Permission and Compensation for Duties Performed as Union Representatives. (a) The Company acknowledges that from time to time it will be necessary for employees serving as Union Officers or Stewards to leave the employee's work in order to perform functions provided for in this Agreement on behalf of the Union. The Union agrees that such employees will not leave their duties without first obtaining the permission of their immediate supervision. Permission will not be unreasonably withheld. On completion of the function for which permission to leave was granted, they will report to their immediate supervision before resuming work.
