Premium for Scheduled Saturday and Sunday Shift Work. (a) An additional $1.07 per hour shall be paid to shift employees for each scheduled hour worked on Saturdays, as well as evening or night shift differentials, where applicable. An additional $2.60 per hour shall be paid to shift employees for each scheduled hour worked on Sundays, as well as evening or night shift differentials, where applicable.
(b) A shift employee who works a Saturday or Sunday shift following a short change shall be paid the appropriate premium and one and one-half times both the employee’s normal rate and the shift differential (if any).
(c) This premium shall not apply to a day worker who works on a Saturday or Sunday as overtime, to a shift worker who works on a day of rest, nor to overtime worked by a shift worker beyond a regular scheduled shift.

When an employee’s scheduled shift does not commence and end on the same calendar day, such shift shall be deemed for Saturday and Sunday premium purposes to have been entirely worked: - On the day it commenced where half (1/2) or more of the hours worked fall on that day, or - On the day it terminates where more than half (1/2) of the hours worked fall on that day. An additional amount as specified in the current Collective Agreement shall be paid to shift employees for each scheduled hour worked (or deemed to have been worked) on Saturdays, as well as shift differential if appropriate. An additional amount as specified in the current Collective Agreement shall be paid to shift employees for each scheduled hour worked (or deemed to have been worked) on Sundays as well as shift differential if appropriate.
Premium for Scheduled Saturday and Sunday Shift Work. In addition to the evening or night shift premium, where applicable, shift employees will receive:
(i) $11.88 effective 2011 April 01, $12.35 effective 2012 April 01, and $12.85 effective 2013 April 01 for each full scheduled shift worked on Saturdays.
(ii) $26.00 effective 2011 April 01, $27.04 effective 2012 April 01 and $28.12 effective 2013 April 01 for each full scheduled shift worked on Sundays. These premiums shall not apply in the case of a shift for which the employee receives compensation at the rate of time and one half or double time, other than for non‐overtime shifts on Company Holidays.

Premium for Scheduled Saturday and Sunday Shift Work. Where an individual is scheduled on a temporary basis to work on an evening, night or weekend shift rotation for at least ten (10) consecutive weeks, the associated premium will form part of their base pay.

No employee will be required to take off-site assignments when other qualified employees are willing and available to do the work. Subject to the above, off-site assignments will be distributed as equitably as practicable amongst qualified employees. When employees are assigned to work off-site for a minimum of one (1) week, a discussion will be held to discuss travel and accommodation arrangements, work schedules and any special compensation that may be warranted for the job in question. Lead Hand salaries are as indicated in the Salary Table. A Lead Hand shall be paid the Lead Hand salary for the employee’s classification, or the Lead Hand salary for the highest rated classification supervised if more than twenty-five per cent (25%) of the personnel in the employee’s crew (excluding apprentices) are in this higher-rated classification.
