Personal Necessity/Emergency Leave. A. Accumulated sick leave, not to exceed eight (8) days in any one school year, may be used at the employee's discretion. Employees shall exhaust FMLA leave during the period he/she is exhausting leave under this section for the serious illness of a member of her/her immediate family. B. Employees shall not be required to give advanced notice for leave taken for the following reasons: 1) Death or serious illness of a member of his/her immediate family. a For purposes of this provision, an immediate family shall be limited to mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, or grandchild of the employee or of the spouse of the employee, and the spouse, son, son- in-law, daughter, daughter-in-law, brother, sister, stepfather or stepmother of the employee or any relative living in the immediate household of the employee.
