Common use of Petition for Reinstatement Clause in Contracts

Petition for Reinstatement. Within seven (7) calendar days after the date of service, the employee separated for unauthorized absence may petition the Appointing Authority in writing to consider reinstatement. The employee must provide proof that the absence was involuntary or unavoidable. 35.2.1 If an employee petitions within the seven (7) calendar days and is not reinstated, the employee may grieve the separation in accordance with ARTICLE 15 – GREIVANCE PROCEDURE. The grievance may not be based on information other than that shared with the University at the time of the petition for reinstatement.
