PLANT COMMITTEE. 12.01 The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a Plant Chairperson and Vice Chairperson and a Plant Committee of five (5) stewards, one from each crew and one (1) from the skilled trades; selected from the regular employees of the Company engaged in jobs covered by the bargaining unit. 5.07 The Plant Negotiating Committee will be granted a regular shift of straight days (four, 10- hour shifts) for a maximum of 80 hours of on-site preparation, as well as during negotiations. This time will be paid for by the Company.

4.07 The President of the Local Union, or in his/her absence theVice- President, will be recognized as an ex-officio member of all committees. The Company reserves agrees torecognizethemassuchand the right Local Union President or Vice-President will be permitted to limit attend all meetings between Union and Management on all matters arising fromtheprovisions of this agreement. Inaddition if the Local Union President desiresaccesstothe Company plant he/she shall notify the Company Human Resources Manager in advance. He/she will then be granted access provided such time if it deems access does not unreasonably interfere with the time so taken efficient operations of the Company’s business.
4.08 The Plant Chairperson will be supplied on a monthly basis with written information listing new hires, including department and classifications, discharges, resignations, lay-offs, recalls, changes in classification and transfers for employees covered by this agreement. Said information shall be provided no later than the 15thof any one month. Every six months the Company will supply the Plant Chairperson with a complete current mailing list of the employees covered by this agreement. The Company agrees to provide the Plant Chairperson with an office that will include a telephone (with voice mail), filing cabinet, desk and chairs. The Company retains theright to withdrawoffice privileges for misuse or abuseafter consultationwiththe National Union Representative. The Plant Chairperson will be granted free access to other work areas during his/her working hours provided advance notification is given tohis/her supervisor andprovided the Plant Chairperson notifies the supervisor of the work area he/she is visiting immediately uponentrytosucharea. It isunderstoodandagreed that access may be delayed due to pressing customer or other business requirements.
4.09 The Company will provide for aonehour orientationperiodfor new employees to be excessiveheld once per month.
12.05 The Nurse’s office4.10 Any employee who is to receive a performance review with an “unsatisfactory” rating, or another suitable location within the plant will be provided may request their area xxxxxxx to the Union Chairperson when he has business to discuss with a xxxxxxx on another crew. PLANT COMMITTEE. 12.01 (a) The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a Plant Chairperson and Vice Chairperson and from the plant union membership, a Plant Committee composed of five not more than three (53) stewards and three (3) alternate stewards, one from each crew and one (1) to be assigned to each active shift. The committee shall meet monthly to maintain a harmonious relationship between management and labour. The committee shall be paid at their straight time hourly rate for attendance at scheduled meetings held on Company premises. The Union Business representative may sit in on any and all such meetings. Notification of the Union Business representative shall be the responsibility of the committeeperson.
(b) Each member of the above committee shall have at least one (1) year of seniority with working hours of the plant, subject to prior notification to the Company.
4:01 (c) The Union agrees to notify the Company in writing from time to time of the names of the members of the Plant Committee and the effective date of their appointment.
4:01 (d) If the Union Xxxxxxx is absent from the skilled trades; selected from the regular employees Company’s employment Beca use of illness or leave of absence, the Company engaged will recognize an alternate xxxxxxx on that shift.
4:02 The Union will notify the Company in jobs covered by the bargaining unit. The Committee will represent all employees covered by this Agreement in matters pertaining to grievances, or alleged grievances concerning the application writing of the terms and provisions of this Agreement. The name and area of each of the stewards and the name of the Plant Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, from time to time selected, shall be given to the Company in writing and posted and maintained by the Union on the notice board as provided in Art. 11.
01Business Representative. The Union Business representative shall be allowed to enter the Company’s Prince Road premises to deal with the administration of this Agreement, provided he does not interfere with the normal operation of the Company. Such entry is limited to the normal working hours of the plant, subject to prior notification to the Company.
4:03 For the purpose of layoff, the xxxxxxx shall be established on the seniority list as first man provided they have the necessary skills and Safety xxxxxxx qualifications. This will not apply to alternate stewards.
4:04 The Company agrees to pay Union Stewards at their regular rate of pay for a reasonable amount of time spent dealing with grievances in the plant during the Union Xxxxxxx’x regular working hours, and does not include time spent on grievances after they have reached the arbitration stage. The above procedure shall also apply to group grievances.
4:05 The Union recognizes and agrees that stewards as well as other employees have regular duties to perform. Stewards will notify their supervisor of the department where they are respectively employed and shall be permitted during their working hours without loss of time or pay to attend to Union business requirements including but not limited to dues receipts, Workers Compensation issues, leaves of absence issues, and discussions with management, un ion, and workers with complaints or grievances, subject to a maximum absence from their regular duties of one (1) hour within the hours comprising one working day. The time may be extended with mutual agreement of the supervisor and xxxxxxx. (Such approval shall not be transferred from his/her crew to another crew whilst work is available in the xxxxxxx’x classification on the xxxxxxx’x crewunjustly withheld.

4:07 The Company agrees to make available to the Union Stewards an in-plant Union Office, for their exclusive use when he has business conducting union business, including computer, printer and internet access, subject to discuss Company policies.
4:08 The Company will provide a glass enclosed, locked bulletin board conspicuously placed for the exclusive use of the Union.
4:09 The Company agrees that a xxxxxxx may provide newly-hired probationary employees with a xxxxxxx on another crewfifteen (15) minute orientation at a time mutually agreed upon by the Company and the Union. Similarly, The Company may be present during such suitable location orientation. Whenever possible such orientation will be made available held prior to the employees commencing work. The time allotted shall be for other private Union conversations. In either case permission will a group orientation and not be unreasonably withheldfor individual orientation of each employee.

PLANT COMMITTEE. 12.01 The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a Plant Chairperson and Vice Chairperson and a Plant Committee herein referred to as “The Committee” consisting of five not more than seven (57) stewardsemployees, one of whom shall be designated as a Chairman. Each member of the Committee shall have seniority with the Company and shall be a regular employee of the Company during his term of office. When the bargaining unit exceeds two hundred and fifty (250) members, the Union may have one additional committeeman. Four (4)Committeeman, plus the Plant Chairman, shall be elected from each crew zones within the plant selected to ensure uniform representation. These four (4) Committeemen, and one Plant Chairman, shall be scheduled to day shift. These Committeemen shall be retained and normally work in their respective plant area of representation regardless of seniority so long as there is work they are willing and able to do. When a Committee member is the junior man in the department, and there is a reduction in the department, such committeeman shall stay on his job and the next junior man will be displaced. One (1) from Committeeman shall be elected for the skilled trades; selected from afternoon shift, and one shall be elected for the regular employees night shift. Such Committeemen hold their position only while on the shift in question. The Company will recognize and deal with the Plant Committee on contract negotiations, any matter properly arising out of this Agreement, and the said Committee will co-operate with the Company engaged in jobs covered by the bargaining unit. The Committee will represent all employees covered by this Agreement in matters pertaining to grievances, or alleged grievances concerning the application of the terms and provisions administration of this Agreement. 01A) For the purposes of negotiating and revising a new collective agreement, the Company will recognize a Negotiating Committee consisting of the Plant Union Chairperson, one (1) Xxxxxxx from each shift and the skilled trades representative, as established by the Union plus a representative from the CAW National Office and the Local 397 President.

5.10 The Company agrees to provide the President of CAW Local 397 work on straight days as per their departmental shift schedule in the event he/she is an employee covered by this collective agreement. The Company agrees he/she will be provided space in the Union Office.
5.11 The Company recognizes the Union Plant Chairperson as a day shift employee. The Plant Chairperson will function on a plant-wide basis.

If both the xxxxxxx and the alternate xxxxxxx on the shift are absent from the skilled trades; selected facility, the Union may appoint an individual on the shift to act as xxxxxxx in their absence. The committee shall meet monthly to maintain a harmonious relationship between management and labour. Stewards shall be paid at their straight time hourly rate for attendance at scheduled meetings held on Company premises. The Union Business representative may sit in on any and all such meetings. Notification of the Union Business representative shall be the responsibility of the committeeperson.
(b) Each member of the above committee shall have at least one (1) year seniority with the Company.
(c) The Union agrees to notify the Company in writing from time to time of the names of the members of the Plant Committee and the effective date of their appointment.
(d) If the Union Xxxxxxx is absent from the regular employees Company’s employment because of illness or leave of absence, the Company engaged will recognize an alternate xxxxxxx on that shift.
4:02 The Union will notify the Company in jobs covered by the bargaining unit. The Committee will represent all employees covered by this Agreement in matters pertaining to grievances, or alleged grievances concerning the application writing of the terms and provisions of this Agreement. The name and area of each of the stewards and the name of the Plant Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, from time to time selected, shall be given to the Company in writing and posted and maintained by the Union on the notice board as provided in Art. 11.

4:05 The union recognizes and agrees that stewards and members, their cooperation as well as other employees have regular duties to perform. Stewards with the Company approval of the supervisor of the department where they are respectively employed shall be permitted during their working hours without loss of time or pay to attend to Union business requirements including but not limited to dues receipts, Workers Compensation issues, leave of absence issues and discussions with all persons representing management, Union and workers with complaints or grievances, subject to a maximum absence from their regular duties of one
(1) hour within the Company in a supervisory capacityhours comprising one working day. The time may be extended with mutual agreement of the supervisor and the xxxxxxx. 12.05 The Nurse’s office4.10 Any employee who is to receive a performance review with an “unsatisfactory” rating, or another suitable location within the plant will be provided may request their area xxxxxxx to the Union Chairperson when he has business to discuss with a xxxxxxx on another crew. PLANT COMMITTEE. 12.01 The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a Plant Chairperson and Vice Chairperson and a Plant Committee of five no more than six (56) stewards, one from each crew and regular employees plus one (1) from the skilled trades; selected Chief Xxxxxxx from the regular employees of the Company engaged in jobs covered by the bargaining unit. The Committee will represent all employees covered by this Agreement agreement, in matters pertaining to grievances, or alleged grievances grievances, concerning the application of the terms and provisions of this Agreementagreement, under the direction of the union. The name and area of each of the stewards stewards, and the name of the Chief Xxxxxxx of the Plant Chairperson and Vice ChairpersonCommittee, from time to time selected, shall be given to the Company in writing and posted and maintained by the Union on the notice board as provided in Art. 11.
01. The Union xxxxxxx and Safety xxxxxxx shall not be transferred from his/her crew to another crew whilst work is available in the xxxxxxx’x classification on the xxxxxxx’x crewwriting.
12.02 The Company undertakes to instruct all members of its supervisory staff to cooperate co-operate with the stewards in the carrying out of the terms and requirements of this Agreement.
12.03 The Union undertakes to secure from its officers, stewards and members, their cooperation co-operation with the Company Company, and with all persons representing the Company in a supervisory capacity, in the carrying out of the terms and requirements of this Agreement.
12.04 The xxxxxxx may request relief from assigned duties to investigate a grievance arising from this Agreement without deduction in pay. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. This right is granted on the following conditions:: -
a) The time shall be devoted to the prompt handling of the grievance.
b) The time away from productive work shall be reported in accordance with the time keeping methods of the department in which the xxxxxxx is employed.
c) The Company reserves the right to limit such time if it deems the time so taken to be excessive.
