(f) Plant committee members shall not be required to change shifts as long as there is work available which they are capable of performing. The plant chairperson may be moved from the second and/or third shift to the day shift if his job classification is no longer required on the bulletin board concerning the employees will be placed in the Union Letter Box2nd or 3rd shift.

Committee members in the MOST system shall be paid their average wage or 125% whichever is less. These wages will be paid for days predominantly spent at the bargaining table and only absent themselves from their duties for the length of time necessary to investigate or adjust a complaint or grievance and shall report immediately upon their return to their jobup until conciliation commences.

PLANT COMMITTEE. 19.01 (a) The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select from the plant union membership, a Plant Committee composed of five not more than three (53) members, includes the President and the Vice President stewards and three (3) shop alternate stewards, one (1) to be assigned to each active shift. The committee shall meet monthly to maintain a harmonious relationship between management and labour. 4:02 The Union will notify the Company in writing of the name of the Union Business Representative. The Union Business representative shall be al- lowed to enter the Company’s Prince Road premises to deal with the administration of this Agreement, provided he does not interfere with the normal operation of the Company. Such en- try is limited to the normal working hours of the plant, subject to prior notification to the Company.
19.02 Members 4:03 For the purpose of layoff, the xxxxxxx shall be es- tablished on the seniority list as first man provided they have the necessary skills and qualifications. This will not apply to alternate stewards.
4:04 The Company agrees to pay Union Stewards at their regular rate of pay for a reasonable amount of time spent dealing with grievances in the plant during the Union Xxxxxxx’x regular working hours, and does not include time spent on grievances after they have reached the ar- bitration stage. The above procedure shall also apply to group grievances.
4:05 The Union recognizes and agrees that stewards as well as other employees have regular du- ties to perform. Stewards will notify their super- visor of the Committee department where they are respec- tively employed and shall be selected permitted during their working hours without loss of time or pay to attend to Union business requirements in- cluding but not limited to dues receipts, Work- ers Compensation issues, leaves of absence issues, and discussions with management, un- ion, and workers with complaints or grievances, subject to a maximum absence from their regu- lar duties of one (1) hour within the hours com- prising one working day. The time may be ex- tended with mutual agreement of the supervi- sor and xxxxxxx. (Such approval shall not be unjustly withheld.) 4:06 The Company will verbally notify the Union through the Alternate Xxxxxxx, by telephone, or FAX prior to the suspension or discharge of a Xxxxxxx. The Company will confirm to the Union Busi- ness Representative such action in writing by registered mail, telegram or FAX machine. Failure of the Company to comply with this pro- cedure will render the constitution dismissal or suspension null and void.
4:07 The Company agrees to make available to the Union Stewards an in-plant Union Office, for their exclusive use when conducting union business.
4:08 The Company will provide a glass enclosed, locked bulletin board conspicuously placed for the exclusive use of the Union.

5.05 The right of Union Representatives to leave their work without loss of pay to investigate or adjust grievances of personnel whom they represent, whether or not those personnel are in the Representative’s jurisdiction is granted on the following conditions:
A) The employee's designated Representative is unavailable to address the employee's concern.
B) The Representative shall obtain the permission of their supervisor before leaving their work which permission shall not be unreasonably withheld.
C) The time off shall be devoted to the prompt handling of grievances, which may include meetings with management or the employee concerned in the grievance.
D) The Company reserves the right to limit such employees for time if it deems the time spent in negotiating so taken to be excessive.
5.06 The Company agrees to provide a list of its supervisory staff to the Chairperson. This list will be updated every month by payroll if there are any changes. Instruction will be provided to the supervisors to cooperate with the Company; handling grievances of employees, and attending stewards to enable them to carry out the meetings provisions of the plant committee, at their regular rate of pay. 5.08 The Chairperson of the Union will be paid by the Company for the length time he/she takes for the administration of this collective agreement in the Strathroy facility. If these hours are to exceed the normal working hours they must be authorized by the Operations Leader or designate prior to working. If the Chairperson is expected to be absent for three (3) days or more a substitution will be allowed under the following conditions. The Chairperson will follow the leave of absence procedure as per Article 16. For plant specific issues that require immediate attention. The Plant Leader or designate will determine if these issues warrant the substitution and this will not be unreasonably withheld.
5.09 The Company agrees to provide a Union office furnished with the following items: locking desk, two (2) filing cabinets, one (1) large filing cabinet, one (1) bookcase, one
(1) bulletin board, one (1) table with four (4) chairs, two (2) telephones, three (3) computers, one (1) printer, one (1) on- line new fax-copy machine and one (1) paper shredder.
5.10 The Company agrees to provide the President of CAW Local 504 work on straight days as per their departmental shift schedule in the event he/she is an employee covered by this collective agreement. The Company agrees he/she will be provided space in the Union Office.
5.11 The Company recognizes the Union Plant Chairperson as a day shift employee as follows: 0 to 150 employees – 20 hours per week 151 employees and up – full time necessary The Plant Chairperson will function on a plant-wide basis. 19.02 Members 5.04 The Union undertakes to secure from its officers, stewards and members their co-operation with the Company and with all persons representing the Company in a supervisory capacity, in the carrying out of the Committee terms and requirements of this agreement.
5.05 The right of Union Representatives to leave their work without loss of pay to handle grievances or other related union business of personnel whom they represent, whether or not those personnel are in the Union Representatives department is granted on the following conditions:
a) The Union Representative shall obtain the permission of his/her Leader before leaving his/her work, which permission shall not be unreasonably denied.
b) The time off shall be selected in accordance devoted to the prompt handling of grievances or other related union business, which may include meetings with management or the constitution of the Unionemployee(s) concerned.
19.03 It is clearly understood the Committee members will not absent themselves from their regular duties unreasonably in order to deal with the grievances of employees, or with other Union business; in accordance with this understanding the 5.06 The Company will compensate such employees pay Union Representatives on the Bargaining Committee for attending negotiations of this and the time spent in negotiating with the Company; handling grievances of employees, and attending the meetings of the plant committee, next collective agreement at their regular normal hourly rate of pay. This does not apply on time spent on such matters outside of regular working hours. Aforementioned meetings The Company agrees to cover mileage expenses for days at negotiations.
5.07 The Plant Negotiating Committee will be held granted a regular shift of straight days for a maximum of 40 hours of preparation, as well as during regular working negotiations. In addition the plant skilled trades rep and the plant health and safety rep will be permitted 4 hours Monday through Fridayeach for preparation. This time will be paid for by the Company.

5.10 The Company agrees to transact business provide a union office with a telephone, computer, printer, fax machine and office furniture for the exclusive use of the Union Committee. The Company agrees to provide basic computer training for the Union which requires their absence from duty with the Company shall, upon application and twenty-four (24) hours’ notice to the proper representative of the Company, be allowed to absent themselves for sufficient time to transact such business with no pay.

19.08 Plant Committee members required to be absent from their regular duties for the purpose of investigating and processing grievances and complaints shall notify their Team Leader, who shall arrange relief, if necessary. It is understood that only under emergency conditions shall within a Team Leader refuse to grant permission to a Plant Committee member to leave his/her job for necessary Plant Committee member’s duties. PLANT COMMITTEE. 19.01 The Company will recognizea Plant Committee of five a maximum of eleven (11) employees elected by the Union in a manner determined by the Union, one of whom shall be the Chairperson. One of these Committeepersons shall be a Skilled Tradesman elected by the Skilled Trades and represent the same. Not more than three (3)members of the Committee shall meet with Management at any one time. A National Union representative and the President of Local may be present and participate in any meeting of the Plant Committee and the Vice President Company. The Union recognizes and agrees that Committeepersons have regular duties to perform in connection with their employment. Whenever the Plant Chairperson, Committeeperson or alternate Committeeperson has occasion to investigate or process a grievance, he must obtain prior permission from his own xxxxxxx and the xxxxxxx of the concerned. Such permissionwill be granted without unreasonable delay. The Plant Chairpersonshall be on steady day shift and will be provided with seven (7) paid hours per week to perform Union business. It is understood that only under emergency conditions such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. 4.06 The Company agrees to provide the Union a lockable office, a four (4) drawer filing cabinet with lock to be placed in a mutually satisfactory location, a telephone and a computer for necessary Plant Committee member’s dutiese-mail, documentation and communication purposes only. The company shall be reimbursed for any long distance charges.
4.07 It is agreed that the Plant Committee members shall only absent themselves from their duties for Chairperson or his alternate or the length union representative on the applicable shift will assist in the scheduling of time necessary to investigate or adjust a complaint or grievance and shall report immediately upon their return to their jobovertime distribution.

21.3 The Company agrees for lay-off purposes, the Union Plant Committee members shall only absent themselves from be retained in the employ of the Company during their duties respective terms of office, notwithstanding their position on the Seniority List so long as the Company has work available for which they are qualified and willing to perform.
21.4 A representative of the length National or Local Union shall be permitted time to interview an officer or committeeperson of time necessary the Local Union during working hours upon application to investigate the Plant Manager, Plant Superintendent or adjust Production Supervisor.

PLANT COMMITTEE. 19.01 (a) The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select from the plant union membership, a Plant Committee composed of five not more than three (53) members, includes the President and the Vice President stewards and three (3) shop alternate stewards, one (1) to be assigned to each active shift. The committee shall meet monthly to maintain a harmonious relationship between management and labour. The committee shall be paid at their straight time hourly rate for attendance at scheduled meetings held on Company premises. 4:01 (c) The Union agrees to notify the Company on matters properly arising in writing from time to time of the names of the members of the Plant Committee and the effective date of their appointment.
4:01 (d) If the Union Xxxxxxx is absent from the Company’s employment Because of illness or leave of absence, the Company will recognize an alternate xxxxxxx on that shift.
4:02 The Union will notify the Company in writing of the name of the Union Business Representative. The Union Business representative shall be allowed to enter the Company’s Prince Road premises to deal with the administration of this Agreement, provided he does not interfere with the normal operation of the Company. Such entry is limited to the normal working hours of the plant, subject to prior notification to the Company.
19.02 Members 4:03 For the purpose of layoff, the xxxxxxx shall be established on the seniority list as first man provided they have the necessary skills and qualifications. This will not apply to alternate stewards.
4:04 The Company agrees to pay Union Stewards at their regular rate of pay for a reasonable amount of time spent dealing with grievances in the plant during the Union Xxxxxxx’x regular working hours, and does not include time spent on grievances after they have reached the arbitration stage. The above procedure shall also apply to group grievances.
4:05 The Union recognizes and agrees that stewards as well as other employees have regular duties to perform. Stewards will notify their supervisor of the Committee department where they are respectively employed and shall be selected permitted during their working hours without loss of time or pay to attend to Union business requirements including but not limited to dues receipts, Workers Compensation issues, leaves of absence issues, and discussions with management, union, and workers with complaints or grievances, subject to a maximum absence from their regular duties of one (1) hour within the hours comprising one working day. The time may be extended with mutual agreement of the supervisor and xxxxxxx. (Such approval shall not be unjustly withheld.) Whenever, in accordance the opinion of the supervisor concerned more than a reasonable period of time shall have been taken by a xxxxxxx to accomplish such business requirements the supervisor of the department to which the xxxxxxx is attached shall decline to approve payment to such xxxxxxx for such excess time.
4:06 The Company will verbally notify the Union through the Alternate Xxxxxxx, by telephone, or E-mail prior to the suspension or discharge of a Xxxxxxx. The Company will confirm to the Union Business Representative such action in writing by registered mail, or Email. Failure of the Company to comply with this procedure will render the constitution dismissal or suspension null and void.
4:07 The Company agrees to make available to the Union Stewards an in-plant Union Office, for their exclusive use when conducting union business, including computer, printer and internet access, subject to Company policies.
4:08 The Company will provide a glass enclosed, locked bulletin board conspicuously placed for the exclusive use of the Union.
