Common use of Policy on Grievances Clause in Contracts

Policy on Grievances. The parties hereto recognize that the prompt and equitable settlement of employee grievances is essential to the maintenance of sound labor relations. The parties further recognize that such grievances are usually more satisfactorily and expeditiously settled at the lowest supervisory level at which an acceptable understanding can be reached. Every reasonable effort will be made by the shop xxxxxxx, in cooperation with Employer’s CEO, to correct violations and infractions of this Agreement. The shop xxxxxxx, upon request to the shop xxxxxxx’x immediate supervisor, shall be given a reasonable amount of time during working hours, and without loss of pay, to handle grievances pertaining to the shop xxxxxxx’x area of responsibility consistent with the provisions of Section 2.8 Shop Xxxxxxx of this Agreement. During outages and other emergencies, the shop xxxxxxx may be required to give priority attention to Employer’s business. Immediate supervisor means appropriate management personnel.
