Common use of Pool for Catastrophic Illness/Injury Clause in Contracts

Pool for Catastrophic Illness/Injury. 1. The parties agree to establish a Sick Leave Pool for teachers. The purpose of the Pool shall be to provide certified staff that have exhausted all paid sick leave and personal leave with additional sick leave days for catastrophic illness or injury to himself/herself or immediate family. For purposes of this procedure, the term “catastrophic illness or injury” shall include only those illnesses or injuries which are calamitous in nature, constituting a great misfortune. Examples of a catastrophic diagnosis include, but are not limited to, the following:
