Personal Illness and Injury Leave 1. Full-time employees shall be entitled to ten (10) days leave with full-time pay for each school year for purposes of personal illness or injury. Employees who work less than full-time shall be entitled to that portion of the ten (10) days leave as the number of hours per week of scheduled duty relates to the number of hours for a full-time employee in a comparable position.
Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave a) Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness leaves granted to a permanent Teacher or long-term Occasional Teacher under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, as amended.
ABSENCE FROM WORK Subject to the trust deed to the fund of which an employee is a member, the following provisions will apply.
Leaves and Absences A. 1) Ten (10) days of sick leave shall be credited annually to each teacher in accordance with Section 1154A of the School Code. The total unused portion of the annual sick leave allowance shall be permitted to accumulate indefinitely. Portability of Sick Leave 1. The employer will accept up to sixty (60) accumulated sick leave days from other school districts in British Columbia, for employees hired to or on exchange in the district.
RECALL FROM LAY-OFF Laid off employees shall be recalled in order of seniority provided they possess the requisite qualifications, skill and ability to perform the work available.
