Common use of Pre-Grievance Clause in Contracts

Pre-Grievance. Contract Dispute a. Before filing a grievance in a contract dispute case, an employee(s) must present his or her complaint directly, or through his or her local committee, to local management. This presentation may be verbal but must be made within ten (10) calendar days after the date on which the employee(s) knew or reasonably should have been expected to know of the cause giving rise to the complaint. Local management will discuss the complaint with the employee(s) and/or the local committee or xxxxxxx in an effort to reach a satisfactory resolution of the dispute and will provide a verbal or written reply to the employee(s) and/or the local committee within ten (10) calendar days. b. If the dispute is not resolved at the pre-grievance step, the dispute may be presented for further consideration if a grievance is filed in compliance with the requirements set forth below.
