Common use of Preliminary Engineer’s Design Report Clause in Contracts

Preliminary Engineer’s Design Report. The preliminary engineer’s design report shall be prepared in accordance with the latest FAA – Northwest Region suggested outline. The Preliminary Report shall provide design criteria and standards anticipated to be used in developing the construction documents (i.e. plans and technical specifications). The Preliminary Report shall document the upfront investigative results such as geotechnical investigations. The report shall cover the following (at a minimum). Some of the sections below will be addressed at the 75% Submittal but are identified below for consistency:  Project Scope of Work  Photographs of the Project Site  List of anticipated and applicable Design Standard (FAA AC 150/5300‐13)  Environmental Actions and Determinations (see CATEX Section 3.d)  Geotechnical (Soils and Grading)  Drainage Design  Recycling (as applicable)  Material Availability  FAA Owned Facilities (as applicable)  Non‐AIP Work (as applicable)  Engineer’s Cost Estimate (i.e. Total Project and Construction Cost)  Precision Approach Path Indicators (PAPI) (as applicable)  DBE Participation  Construction Safety and Phasing  Miscellaneous Work Items  Pre‐Design Meeting Minutes  Reference Documents (i.e. applicable FAA Advisory Circulars)
