Privacy/Data Collection. The Licensed Software may collect the IP address for your system on which the Licensed Software is installed and submit such IP address to Symantec through the Licensed Software, for the purpose of enabling Symantec to fulfill a technical support request from You or Your network administrator or to improve the installation process for the Licensed Software. The information will be used only for the purpose(s) set forth above. The information may be transferred to the Symantec group in the United States or other countries that may have less protective data protection laws than the region in which you are situated (including the European Union), but Symantec has taken steps so that the information, if transferred, receives an adequate level of protection. Any such information obtained by the Licensed Software will be maintained in a secure manner, and will not be correlated with any other personally identifiable information. Symantec may disclose the information if asked to do so by a law enforcement official as required or permitted by law or in response to a subpoena or other legal process.

Privacy/Data Collection. Reseller will at all times during the term of this Agreement maintain appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect any End User data that it collects, accesses or processes in connection with this Agreement against unauthorized or unlawful use, disclosure, processing or alteration. Reseller will act only on ILS 's instructions in relation to the collection, use, disclosure and processing of any such End User data, but in all instances in accordance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.

Privacy/Data Collection. From time to time, the Software may collect certain information from the computer on which it is installed, which may include system and storage configuration data including system IP addresses, and other general, statistical information for product administration and analysis, and for improving product functionality. This information is collected and stored on Symantec’s systems and is not transmitted externally without first obtaining the customer’s consent. This information may be collected using the Software’s automatic submission function. Symantec collects this information in order to enable the Symantec product to better detect configuration errors in the customer’s data center. This potentially personally identifiable information will not be correlated with any personally identifiable information. The collected information as set out above is necessary for the purpose of optimizing the functionality of Symantec’s products and may be transferred to the Symantec group in the United States or other countries that may have less protective data protection laws than the region in which You are situated (including the European Union), but Symantec has taken steps so that the collected information, if transferred, receives an adequate level of protection.

The Licensed Software may also collect personally identifiable information, including but not limited to, usernames, IP addresses in log files, server log files, MAC address, metering application usage by username and active directory module. In addition, PGP log or output files may contain details of users’ e-mail traffic, including their e-mail address and the e-mail addresses of the third parties they correspond with. This information is stored on Your system and is not transmitted to Symantec unless You voluntarily submit such information to Symantec in a support request. If submitted to Symantec, such information will be used for the purpose of troubleshooting and to provide support. The information may be transferred to the Symantec group in the United States or other countries that may have less protective data protection laws than the region in which You are situated (including the European Union) and may be shared with affiliates of the Symantec group worldwide and with Symantec licensors or service providers that operate on Symantec’s behalf, but Symantec has taken steps so that the submitted information, if transferred, receives an adequate level of protection. In case of transfer of users’ personal information to Symantec, it is Your responsibility to comply with applicable laws, including, but not limited to, communication to users.
