Common use of Probationary Period, New Hire Clause in Contracts

Probationary Period, New Hire. Employees who enter a bargaining unit shall be 35 required to successfully complete a probationary period. The probationary period shall begin on 36 the first day for which the employee receives compensation from the Employer in the bargaining 37 unit position and shall continue for a period of up to one (1) calendar year. A probationary 38 employee may be terminated anytime during his probationary period and shall have no right to 39 appeal or grieve the termination.
