Procedure for Imposing Disciplinary Action on an Employee. 1. Informal Conference Except in cases where the employee is placed on administrative leave with pay, an employee against whom disciplinary action is being considered shall be scheduled to attend a conference with the Director of Personnel or his/her designee. At such conference, the employee shall be informed orally of the specific disciplinary action being considered, as well as the reasons, and be given an opportunity to respond. The employee may be represented at such conference by a representative of his/her choice. Failure of the employee to attend the meeting shall not invalidate any disciplinary action imposed pursuant to this article.
