Procedure for Promotion. The procedures described in Section 5.f. of this Article, including external evaluation, shall apply to Research faculty who are seeking promotion including external evaluation for those seeking promotion to Associate and Full Professor levels. “Arms length” external evaluation is not required, however, for promotion of a Research Associate to a Research Assistant Professor. Research faculty are not eligible for tenure. If a Research faculty member is subsequently appointed in a tenure-track position, and has prior service at the University, part or all of such prior service may be included as part of the probationary period. This credit must be approved by the Xxxxxxx in his or her discretion prior to the initial offer of appointment upon the recommendation of the Xxxx of the college or school and stated in the letter of appointment for the tenure-track position.
