Clinical Faculty. Clinical Instructors will receive a one year contract that is renewable annually. The rank of Clinical Instructor is intended for faculty who presently lack the educational level and experi- ence for Clinical Assistant Professor as specified in approved unit guidelines. In no case shall a faculty member who has achieved the educational level and experience for Clinical Assistant Professor be appointed at the rank of instructor. However, conversion to the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor will occur when the educational level and experience for Clinical Assistant Professor has been obtained. A Clinical Assistant Professor will be appointed for an initial two-year appointment and may be reappointed for additional periods of two (2) years. The rank of Clinical Assistant Professor is intended for faculty who have achieved the educational level and experience as specified in approved unit guidelines. A Clinical Associate Professor will be appointed for an initial appointment of four (4) years and may be reappointed for additional periods of four (4) years. The rank of Clinical Associate Professor is intended for faculty who have achieved the educational level and experience as specified in approved unit guidelines. A Clinical Professor will be appointed for an initial appointment of six (6) years and may be reappointed for additional periods of six (6) years. The rank of Clinical Professor is intended for faculty who have achieved the educational level and experience as specified in approved unit guidelines. Clinical Practice Evaluation Criteria. Demonstration of active engagement in quality evidence- based clinical practice that may include patient care and/or consultation related to their area of teaching and clinical specialty; the prime indicators of practice effectiveness, sources of evi- dence, and criteria for evaluating performance are listed in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences Annual Review Guidelines for Clinical Faculty.
Clinical Faculty. The University shall be permitted to appoint up to 16 clinical faculty members in the Physician Assistant Studies, Graduate Nursing, and Occupational Therapy programs combined. Unless otherwise specified herein, the terms and conditions of employment for the clinical faculty will be governed by this Agreement. Each appointment letter shall specify the faculty member’s full-time faculty status and rank, and identify his/her teaching load and any other duties along with the corresponding release time for said duties. As with all other faculty, pension contributions and wage increases will be calculated on clinical faculty members’ total base salary. Initial clinical appointments (new hires) will be for a term of two (2) years. The first reappointment will be for a term of three (3) years and all subsequent reappointments will be for a term of five (5) years. The criteria and procedures for appointment, reappointment, promotion and tenure shall be governed by Article 5. Any clinical faculty members who have been employed by the University for two years as of September 1, 2016 will be entitled to serve on any faculty or department committees for which s/he is otherwise eligible.
1. Clinical faculty may apply up to three years of prior academic service to the tenure probationary period at the time s/he elects to stand for tenure. Unless the terms which applied prior to September 1, 2011 were greater, in which case those terms shall apply, the working conditions for PA Faculty on clinical lines are as follows:
Clinical Faculty. A. Part-time clinical faculty who are new to the unit will be appointed as a Clinical Educator I.
B. A Clinical Educator I will initially be eligible to be considered for the rank of Clinical Educator II following six-years of active service within the most recent eight year period of 0.25 FTE or greater service as a clinical faculty member in the bargaining unit, or as a clinical faculty member in the full- time faculty unit, or combination of years in such units.
C. A Clinical Educator II will initially be eligible to be considered for the rank of Clinical Educator III following ten-years of active service within the most recent fourteen-year period of 25FTE or greater service as a clinical faculty member in the bargaining unit, or as a clinical faculty member in the full- time faculty unit, or combination of years in such units.
D. A Clinical Educator must notify his or her department chair no later than November 15th of the year in which they want to be reviewed for promotion.
E. The review process will follow Article 15, Evaluations, Section 2.
Clinical Faculty. A. The clinical faculty is composed of those individuals whose primary function

After three (3) years of continuous acceptable service, members of the clinical faculty shall be eligible for extended appointments of three (3) years. Clinical Faculty. All Clinical Faculty and Clinical Department Chiefs of Service shall be employed and paid by Xxxxxx, provided however that such faculty and Department Chiefs with Medical School faculty responsibilities shall be approved and appointed to the Medical School faculty by the Rowan Board of Trustees upon the nomination of the President of Rowan, upon the recommendation of the Xxxx. Xxxxxx physicians with faculty responsibilities at Xxxxxx Xxxx Xxxxxxx Medical School (―RWJMS‖) shall serve as the initial clinical faculty of the Medical School, and shall be appointed by the Board of Trustees of Rowan upon the nomination of the President of Rowan, upon the recommendation of the Xxxx, and shall be appointed at the same level then held at RWJMS. Thereafter, when Xxxxxx hires additional physicians, it shall notify Rowan whether it seeks to have a faculty appointment for any such hire, and if so, that physician’s appointment shall be considered through the process described below, and approval of the physician for a faculty appointment shall not be unreasonably withheld. Appointments to the Clinical Faculty shall be made by the Board of Trustees of Rowan upon the nomination of the President of Rowan, upon the recommendation of the Xxxx, and after receiving the advice of the President and CEO of Xxxxxx. Such appointments shall be in accordance with Rowan’s policies and procedures then in effect for simultaneous appointment to the faculty of the Medical School in accordance with the standards generally prescribed by the Medical School and with the recommendation of the Xxxx; and such appointments shall be for a one, two or three year terms and reappointments for one, two or three year terms shall be without limitation. All appointments to the Xxxxxx Medical Staff shall be made by Xxxxxx in accordance with its regular procedures. Any change in Medical Staff status not requiring change in faculty rank shall be in accordance with the regular procedure of the Xxxxxx Medical Staff. Loss of Xxxxxx Medical Staff appointment shall result in loss of appointment to the Medical School faculty. All appointments and reappointments to the Clinical Faculty made by the Rowan Board of Trustees shall be in writing and signed by the President of Rowan, the President and CEO of Xxxxxx and the Xxxx. Notwithstanding the foregoing, physicians who have privileges at Xxxxxx, but are not employed by Xxxxxx, shall be eligible for voluntary faculty appointments and physicians with privileges at aff...
Clinical Faculty. Candidates for retention or grant of security are exempt from the scholarship criteria. The teaching effectiveness criterion for clinical candidates also includes review of the clinic’s administration including professional management of cases, management of workflow, strategic planning for the clinic, and whether there is adequate supervision of clinical students.
Clinical Faculty. Health professionals employed or otherwise engaged by a Member to teach and supervise medical learners, primarily in a clinical setting.
Clinical Faculty. In the School of the Health Professions, there shall be established Clinical Faculty Lines. The qualifier “clinical”, when used in conjunction with the academic ranks defined below, is assigned to clinically licensed health care professionals whose role at NYIT includes clinical and in some cases academic responsibilities. Clinical faculty are required to:
1) Be credentialed annually through the NYIT/NYITCOM Faculty Practice Plan (“FPP”), however participation in the FPP is optional;1 and
2) Attain and maintain a clinical license to practice in New York State. Clinical faculty may have a clinical degree(s) as terminal degree(s) and function in a clinical discipline with responsibilities being performed at NYIT and NYIT’s off campus clinical program sites. Clinical faculty lines will be non-tenure bearing and will follow a schedule for reappointment as follows:
