Procedures within the Department. (a) Each Department shall have a Selection Committee elected by the Department from within the Department, or where this is not possible, from cognate Departments as determined by the members of the Department in which the vacant position exists. For the purposes of this Article, when a member of a cognate department is required for the selection committee, the decision of the Selection Committee goes directly to the Xxxx without being considered by the Department under 10.53 (d). The Head of the Department shall normally be the chair of the Selection Committee which shall consist of at least three persons. Students shall have input into hiring procedures, where possible. The department may either choose to add an upper level major in a program of the department selected under the auspices of the SRC to the Selection Committee as a member, or have student representation to the department. A quorum will be fifty per cent (50%) plus one (1) of the faculty members on the committee.

Faculty members elected to serve on Selection Committees may only carry out their duties after completing a workshop which shall cover the princleips, objectives, recent history, best practices, and institutionlaexpectations with respect to employmenqt ueity. The program of such workshops shall be agreed between the Parties, with advice if necessary from an advisor on equity agreed to by the Patries.

  • Cooperation on forestry matters and environmental protection 1. The aims of cooperation on forestry matters and environmental protection will be, but not limited to, as follows: (a) establishing bilateral cooperation relations in the forestry sector; (b) developing a training program and studies for sustainable management of forests; (c) improving the rehabilitation and sustainable management of forest with the aim of increasing carbon sinks and reduce the impact of climate change in the Asia-Pacific region; (d) cooperating on the execution of national projects, aimed at: improving the management of forest plantations for its transformation for industrial purposes and environmental protection; (e) elaborating studies on sustainable use of timber; (f) developing new technologies for the transformation and processing of timber and non-timber species; and (g) improving cooperation in agro-forestry technologies. 2.   • Monitoring by the Department The Contractor shall permit all persons who are duly authorized by the Department to inspect and copy any records, papers, documents, facilities, goods, and services of the Contractor that are relevant to this Contract, and to interview clients, employees, and sub-contractor employees of the Contractor to assure the Department of satisfactory performance of the terms and conditions of this Contract. Following such review, the Department shall deliver to the Contractor a written report of its finding, and may direct the development, by the Contractor, of a corrective action plan. This provision shall not limit the Department’s termination rights.

  • Department of Health and Human Services An employee notified of a positive controlled substance or alcohol test result may request an independent test of their split sample at the employee’s expense. If the test result is negative, the Employer will reimburse the employee for the cost of the split sample test. An employee who has a positive alcohol test and/or a positive controlled substance test may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, based on the incident that prompted the testing, including a violation of the drug and alcohol free work place rules.

  • Health & Safety (a) The Employer and the Union agree that they mutually desire to maintain standards of safety and health in the Home, in order to prevent injury and illness and abide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act as amended from time to time.
