Hiring Procedures. Nothing contained in this Article 4 shall impair any of the rights of the Employer to hire new or additional employees to meet the employment needs of the Employer, in accordance with the terms and provisions of this collective bargaining Agreement or to meet the obligations of the Employer under Article 2, Section H of this Agreement or to take affirmative steps to comply with any requirements under any applicable Federal or State law prohibiting discrimination in employment.

Hiring Procedures. Any EMPLOYER signatory hereto agrees to be bound by the hiring procedures of the local unions signatory hereto, not inconsistent with the terms of this AGREEMENT. Applicants referred to a job shall report to the EMPLOYER'S office established for that job. It is understood that employment begins and ends at the jobsite, except for the initial security check-in. The UNIONS agree to furnish at all times to the EMPLOYER qualified journeymen and apprentices in a sufficient number, as determined by the EMPLOYER, per the ratios defined in the appropriate Appendix A's as may be necessary under the terms specified in this AGREEMENT. If, upon request, the UNION is unable, within forty-eight (48) hours (Saturday, Sunday and Holidays excluded), to supply workmen, including workmen with special skills or qualifications, the EMPLOYER may secure workmen from any other source. The EMPLOYER shall have the right to reject any applicant for just cause referred by the UNION. (a) A contractor has the right to call the union hall for a worker with "special skills or qualifications" and the union hall is required to furnish a qualified person. (b) Radiation and respirator training are not special skills or qualifications. ( Executive Board 6/28/1988) Contractors should be encouraged to file grievances against unions that send out unqualified individuals who do not meet special requirements. Contractors are advised to be more specific when placing job orders. (Footnote 28, Executive Board 6/28/1988) These rates (U.A. Welder Rates Appendix A) are a classification in the local bargaining agreement and are treated like any other classification. (Footnote 47, Executive Board 4/28/2010) The unions will submit their “hiring hall procedures” to the Site Labor Coordinator’s office to be made available upon request to (SSA) signatory contractors.
Hiring Procedures. An individual who is interviewed for a temporary or supplemental appointment shall be informed of the nature of the position as described below. Temporary or supplemental appointments do not have the same rights and benefits as continuing appointments. At the time of hire, an employee on a temporary or supplemental appointment shall be notified in writing of the temporary or supplemental nature of his/her position. The notification shall include the duration of the appointment and shall be given to the employee with a copy to the appropriate Human Resources Department. Upon request, the Union shall be provided a list of employees on temporary posted and temporary no post positions, including the employeeswork locations and length of service in the temporary position.

Hiring Procedures. 1. The Employer must be approved by the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee and have signed the "Agreement to Train" (Form DAS 7). The Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee shall not arbitrarily withhold approval. 2. The Employer must notify the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee of the intention of hiring an Apprentice Xxxxxxx. 3. The Employer must agree not to use the prospective Apprentice Xxxxxxx until having been approved (indentured) by the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee.
Hiring Procedures. 1. Full-time faculty: a. The appropriate administrator, in consultation with the departmental faculty as available, and human resources as needed, shall prepare a position announcement for the District human resources office. If the department faculty is not available, a faculty from the division will be consulted. Any subsequent changes made to the position announcement must be discussed by all parties. The AHE President will be notified of pending position announcement. b. The position announcement for all full time faculty positions shall be officially posted internally five days prior to off-campus announcement. Should a qualified faculty member desire to assume the position being announced, he/she shall be given the opportunity to meet with the District President to discuss the position or transfer. If a qualified faculty member has expressed an interest, the District President has ten days to decide whether to make an appointment. “Qualified faculty member” for the purposes of this section shall include all WVC faculty, tenured, probationary, or temporary, who are contracted on an annual basis at the time of posting. Not included are part time faculty or temporary full time faculty contracted on a quarterly basis. c. If the District President does not appoint a qualified faculty member within ten days of the close of the internal posting, the position will be advertised by the District Human Resources office in accordance with District procedures. d. Each applicant must submit a complete application file as defined in the announcement by the announced closing date. Incomplete application files from any candidate may be provided to the hiring committee at the discretion of the District chief human resources officer or designee. e. The hiring committee will consist of five voting members: the appropriate administrator and one other xxxx level or above administrator (HR director, VP, or xxxx); three faculty members, tenured when available, including one member from the teaching area of the division being recruited and two other faculty members. A human resource representative may also be present in addition to the voting members. Faculty members will be appointed by the AHE President per Article III, Section F.7.f. f. All members of the hiring committee shall have participated in a training set up jointly by human resources and the AHE President. Hiring Procedures. Both parties agree that prior to submitting a dispatch request to the hiring hall, the MOA shall recruit from employees represented by this agreement. Both parties further agree that prior to posting a vacancy to the public, the MOA will request a dispatch from the Union’s hiring hall according to D (below). A. The Union agrees to maintain a hiring hall and to solicit qualified workers, both Union and non-union, in order to fill MOA requisitions for workers. The MOA agrees to use the services of the hiring hall and will call upon the Union to furnish all qualified workers the MOA may require in the classifications covered by this Agreement, subject to the terms and conditions set forth in this Section 3.1. B. Selection of applicants for referral to jobs shall be on a non-discriminatory basis and shall not be based on, or in any way affected by Union membership, bylaws, rules, regulations, constitutional provisions, or any other aspect or obligation of Union membership, policies or requirements. The Union agrees to not discriminate against non-union workers in referring workers to the MOA, and the MOA agrees not to discriminate against Union workers in selecting job applicants referred by the Union. C. The MOA retains the right to reject any job applicant referred by the Union. D. In the event the Union is unable to supply the MOA with qualified workers within forty-eight (48) hours (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and recognized holidays excluded) from when the call was received, the MOA may recruit workers from other sources. In this case, the MOA may recruit and hire pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Personnel Rules (AMC 3.30). If the MOA hires outside of the hall, the MOA shall furnish the Union with the name(s) of any such workers hired, their classification, and date of hire. E. The MOA may fill vacant positions by recall from layoff or by transfer, promotion, or demotion. F. The MOA may fill vacant positions with existing bargaining unit members through departmental or Municipal recruitment announcements. Current temporary employees shall be eligible to apply for departmental and municipal vacant positions. G. The Union and the MOA agree to disseminate to employees and applicants for employment, notice of these hiring arrangements. H. Any alleged violation of this Article may be the subject of a grievance under Article 7 of this Agreement.
