Professional Officer 1. Possession of a tertiary qualification (undergraduate degree or higher) is required for positions within this level. Employees shall have obtained professional knowledge as indicated by successful completion of the appropriate degree and be able to apply theoretical aspects of the relevant discipline to problems or broader assignments. Work is initially performed under supervision by a more experienced professional, however, this supervision is expected to reduce as experience increases. Over time the technical content of work will not be subject to direct supervision. Professional guidance will be available, if required. Employees at this level may operate individually or as a member of a project team within a work group. Some supervisory responsibility of subordinate staff may be required.
