Promotion--Effect upon Rate of Compensation. Whenever an employee is promoted to a higher class, she/he shall be entitled to receive in the new position the nearest higher monthly salary in the salary range which attaches to the higher class.

Promotion--Effect upon Rate of Compensation. Whenever an An employee is promoted to a position having a higher class, she/he maximum rate than that of his present class shall be entitled to receive the minimum salary for that class or the rate in the new position range which is next above his present rate, whichever is greater. When the nearest normal promotion or reclassification of an employee to a higher monthly class would result in a salary increase of less than 5%, the salary of such employee will be adjusted to the step in the salary new range which attaches to is at least 5% higher than the higher present salary rate, or the maximum salary for the class, whichever is less.
