Common use of Promotion Requiring Higher Qualifications Clause in Contracts

Promotion Requiring Higher Qualifications. Where there is no qualified applicant for a posted position, consideration for promotion will be given to the senior applicant who does not possess the required qualifications, but who is preparing for qualification prior to the filling of the vacancy. If such Employee is promoted, he/she will be given an opportunity to qualify within a reasonable length of time and if he/she fails to qualify he/she shall revert to his/her former position and wage rate.
