Promotions, Demotions and Temporary Assignments. (a) Subject to the provisions of Subsection (b), in the event an employee is promoted or temporarily assigned to a higher rated classification, he/she shall receive the higher rate of pay.

In the event a salaried employee is promoted or temporarily assigned to a higher rated classification, where a graduated salary range is provided, he shall be paid at least that rate in the salary range for the classification to which he is promoted or temporarily assigned which is next higher than his present rate.
