Overtime Assignments. 1. In classifications where employees are eligible for overtime pay, overtime work shall be offered to employees within the work location involved from the appropriate work group in continuing rotation on the basis of seniority. Each employee shall be selected in turn according to his/her place on the seniority list by rotation provided, however, the employee whose turn it is to work possesses the qualifications, training and ability to perform the specific work required. 2. An employee requesting to be skipped when it becomes his/her turn to work overtime shall not be rescheduled for overtime work until his/her name is reached again in orderly sequence and an appropriate notation shall be made on the overtime roster. 3. In the event no employee accepts required overtime work, the State shall assign employees within the work location involved from the appropriate work group to perform the overtime work by continuing rotation in inverse order of seniority. Employees who are unavailable, including employees who are on vacation, sick leave or other approved leaves of absence, and employees for whom the requirement of overtime work would cause undue hardship, shall be excused from a required overtime assignment. Employees so excused shall not lose their eligibility for overtime work within the then current rotation. 4. Work in progress, when appropriate, shall be completed by the employee performing the work at the time the determination is made that overtime is required except that an employee for whom the requirement of overtime work would cause undue hardship shall be excused from the overtime assignment.

Overtime Assignments. Within a work group or at a work location as appropriate, overtime work shall be equalized to the extent possible among employees within a classification who normally perform the duties involved. When the required overtime duties normally overlap from one classification to another, every attempt shall be made to equalize such work among members of those classes.

Overtime Assignments. General overtime needs shall be determined and scheduled by the Employer. The Employer will determine which classifications will be needed for overtime assignments. Absent being on home assignment, bargaining unit members will be given the opportunity to work football games. If a bargaining unit member is assigned to work a football game, the University will provide free parking to the event.
Overtime Assignments. Overtime shall be optional, except that if a supervisor cannot secure an adequate staff from among volunteers after offering the assignment per Section 4 of this Article, overtime shall be assigned to employees within a work location on the basis of ability to do the job and inverse classification seniority. Such an assignment shall not exceed eight (8) consecutive hours, exclusive of an unpaid lunch period. No more than two (2) full mandatory overtime shifts or four (4) partial mandatory overtime assignments per pay period per employee may be made by the supervisor. An employee may withdraw from their voluntary overtime assignment up to five (5) work days prior to the actual overtime with written notice to their supervisor. Withdrawal from a voluntary overtime assignment within five (5) work days may occur only with the approval of the supervisor.
Overtime Assignments. The Company will maintain a Rotating Monthly Sign-Up List for Weekday overtime assignments. Every month a new Sign-Up List will be posted. Such lists will be posted for three days. When Weekday overtime has to be worked, employees in the classification on the shift who have signed the Rotating Monthly Sign-up List will be offered the overtime in accordance with their Seniority on the list. In offering overtime, Supervisors will rotate overtime opportunities in accordance with the list. In cases where all employees on the list decline the overtime, the most junior employee in the classification on the shift will be required to perform the work. Where there are students in that classification on the shift, the students will be the one(s) required to work the overtime before anyone else. When decreasing the number of employees on an overtime shift, in a particular classification,it will be offered by seniority to those employees who were scheduled. Overtime in the forklift class will be offered to the forklift drivers. Separate Seniority Lists for overtime assignments will be maintained on a Yearly Rotating basis; one for Saturday and one for Sunday/Holiday. Overtime work that is created as a result of an absent employee will be assigned in accordance with the above paragraph if the absence is known about before the start of the last two hours of the shift, otherwise the junior qualified employee(s) will be assigned to work. Such employee(s) will be allowed to secure a qualified volunteer to work in his place. Forms will be provided for handling this provision in an orderly fashion. As a remedy for employees who are accidentally bypassed for an overtime assignment, the employees bypassed will be offered the next overtime opportunity for the same time period and increment that they signed up for (unless the employee is in agreement to splitting up the hours or changing the time period). It is understood that the employee must point out this error to the appropriate Supervisor within three (3) days of the error. If the Company fails to provide the employee the next opportunity within the next ten (10) working days for weekday overtime and thirty (30) working days for weekend overtime, the employee will be paid the lost overtime hours. Make up opportunities will be offered outside of the rotating overtime list. The Company will offer qualified employees by seniority “outside of the classification” overtime assignments before forcing the junior qualified employee...

Overtime Assignments. When needed, overtime work shall be scheduled among qualified full-time regular employees doing similar work in the work location where the em- ployees regularly work in accordance with the following: A Two weeks (i.e., 14 calendar days) prior to the start of each cal- endar quarter, full-time regular employees desiring to work overtime during that quarter shall place their names on an "Overtime Desired" list. Every full-time regular employee shall have the opportunity to put his/her name on the "Overtime De- sired" list, even though he/she may be on leave during the sign- ing up period for that quarter. Newly converted full-time employees, and employees convert- ed, transferred, or reassigned into an installation or into the Mail Handler craft within the installation, may place their names on the "Overtime Desired" list within the two weeks (i.e., 14 calendar days) following the date upon which they are con- verted, transferred, or reassigned to full-time. Said placement on the list shall be effective on the next calendar day.

First consideration in the assignment of overtime shall be given to employees whose names appear on the “Overtime Desired” list. However, certain employees may be assigned overtime by the Employer in order to continue working on their particular project or assignment (e.g., a computer program, a system development), notwithstanding the above. B. Two weeks prior to the start of each calendar quarter, full-time employees desiring to work overtime during that quarter shall place their names on an “Overtime Desired” list. C. Lists will be established by section, or tour in accordance with Article 30, Local Working Conditions. D. When during the quarter the need for overtime arises, employees with the necessary skills having listed their names will be selected in order of their seniority on a rotating basis. Those absent on leave or on medical restriction which will not permit overtime work shall be passed over. E. If the voluntary “Overtime Desired” list does not provide sufficient qualified people, qualified regular employees not on the list may be required to work overtime on a rotating basis with the first opportunity assigned to the junior employee. F. Exceptions to D and E above if requested by the employee, may be approved by local management in exceptional cases based on equity (e.g., anniversaries, birthdays, illness, and deaths). G. Except for an emergency situation, a full-time regular employee shall not be required to work over twelve (12) hours in a day or six (6) days in a week. An emergency situation is defined as an unforeseen circumstance or combination of circumstances which call for immediate action.
