Training Assignments. The Supervisor or designee may establish written training assignments to enable an employee to gain the additional experience and training required for the job for a period of time not to exceed two years. At the completion of the training assignment, the employee’s pay will be set no less than the entry rate of pay for the occupational pay band.
Training Assignments. 7.1 When an employee covered by this compressed work week agreement attends a training program, the Employer may change the employee’s scheduled hours of work to the greater of:
(a) 7¼ or 8 hours per day, as applicable, or
(b) the actual number of hours spent receiving training, for each day that the employee participates in the training program.
7.2.1 Where the change prescribed in Article 7.1 results in fewer or more hours than the employee was previously scheduled to work on the day(s) in question, the “extra” or “deficit” hours shall be reduced to zero within sixty (60) working days of the completion of the training program, without any loss of pay by the employee or overtime payments by the Employer, as follows:
(a) the employee shall be required to work a corresponding number of hours to make up for any deficit hours; or
(b) the employee shall be scheduled off duty for a corresponding number of hours to offset any extra hours.
7.2.2 Where there is mutual agreement, an employee may receive pay at his or her basic hourly rate for extra hours in lieu of being scheduled off duty in accordance with Article 7.2.1 (b).
7.2.3 Where an employee’s extra hours have not been reduced to zero within sixty (60) working days in accordance with Article 7.2.1, any such hours remaining to the employee’s credit shall be paid at the employee’s basic hourly rate.
Training Assignments a. When an employee on a compressed work week attends a training program, the College may change the employee’s scheduled hours of work to the greater of: i. 7.0, 7.25, 7.50 or 8.0 hours per day, as applicable, or
Training Assignments. When the Company requires training, the most senior volunteer in the applicable classification will be selected.
Training Assignments. (A) For a period not to exceed eighty (80) hours per calendar year and when the Chief of Police determines a need for members to be trained, the Chief may require members to report for training assignments outside their normal work hours. Training assignments will be scheduled in blocks of time of not less than 8 hours. For the purposes of this section, members may be assigned outside their normal working hours no more than four (4) times per calendar year. Should all or part of the training be scheduled outside of the member’s regular duty hours, the Chief of Police or designee has the discretion to adjust a member’s work schedule to attend training. Training hours will be paid in accordance with Article 25. Members will be notified at least twenty-eight (28) days in advance of the scheduled training.
(B) Specialized training shall be defined as any training, other than regular Division training, that is provided to a member for the purpose of enhancing the member's knowledge, skills and abilities. Any member requesting specialized training shall submit a written request of such training to that member's immediate supervisor. The training captain or designee shall post all requests for specialized training within ten (10) calendar days after submission of the request. Such posting will indicate the name of the member requesting the training, the type of training requested, and the disposition of the member's request. If a member requests and is approved for specialized training, the member will, when requested, share with Ohio State University personnel, in whole or in part, the subject matter addressed by the course.
Training Assignments. The department may establish written training assignments to enable an employee to gain the additional experience and training required for the job. In these cases, the Employer may set the employee’s base pay rate below the minimum entry rate for a period not to exceed one year. This period may be extended upon mutual agreement of the parties. Upon completion of the training assignment the employee will advance to the entry rate listed on Schedule A – Occupational Pay Ranges listed in Addendum A.
Training Assignments. Successful internal applicants may be placed on a 6-month training assignment in the new position. In the event the Employer determines the employee is not satisfactorily meeting the requirements of the new position during or at the conclusion of the 6-month training period, the employee may be returned to their former position or to a similar position with no loss of seniority. The employee will be given notice of below standard performance 30 days before the end of the trial period. If the performance does not improve by the end of the 30 day period, the department may: extend the length of the trial period for a maximum of six additional consecutive calendar months, or return the employee their former position if vacant, or offer the employee an available position for which they are qualified (salary will be adjusted per pay plan rules), or opt to take disciplinary action if sufficient cause exists, instead of returning the employee to a former or equivalent position.
Training Assignments. Working schedules and assignments may be impacted by training as follows:
A. For a period not to exceed one hundred twenty (120) hours per calendar year and when the University determines a need for Bargaining Unit members to be trained, the University may require Bargaining Unit members to report for training assignments outside their normal work hours. Training assignments will be scheduled in blocks of time of not less than four
Training Assignments. All training assignments for the purpose of progression shall be announced in a training notice which shall be displayed on the Plant bulletin boards for seven calendar days. A copy of the notice shall be forwarded to the Union office.
Training Assignments. Employees who are sent to a training seminar/school/program at the request of the City should not be considered to be on a Leave of Absence. Such employee will still be considered City employees and will continue to receive all appropriate benefits.
