Common use of Qualifications for Use of the Sick Leave Bank Clause in Contracts

Qualifications for Use of the Sick Leave Bank. i. Members of the SLB may be granted hours for serious illness and/or injury to themselves or immediate family members. ii. All accumulated sick, compensatory time, vacation and paid personal leave must be exhausted before an individual is eligible for SLB hours. iii. All unused hours must be returned to the SLB. iv. Sick leave hours earned during the absence will be used instead of SLB hours. v. SLB hours will not be used in lieu of disability retirement. vi. Members who are receiving temporary disability payments for the Workers’ Compensation Bureau are not eligible to receive SLB hours. vii. A member requesting SLB hours for mental/emotional disability must be under the care of a licensed physician and be involved in an active treatment plan. viii. SLB grants will end as of the last workday of the school year. SLB grants will not automatically be carried over from one school year to another. ix. No bargaining unit member shall be actively employed with any other employer, private or public during the period of time that she/he is receiving benefits from the SLB.
