Quality of Renewable Resource Sample Clauses

Quality of Renewable Resource a. Explain the quality of the renewable resource that the Project will rely upon. Provide supporting documentation, such as project-specific resource studies, reports from RETI or the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) that supports resource quality claims and ability for the facility to provide expected generation. b. For biomass projects, please provide a fuel resource analysis and the developer’s fuel supply plan. Identify: i. From whom/where is the fuel being secured; and ii. Where the fuel is being stored c. Explain whether the utility believes that the Project will be able meet the terms of the contract given its independent understanding of the quality of the renewable resource. If necessary, reference successful nearby projects, completed studies, and/or other information.

Quality of Renewable Resource. Bottle Rock is in a known geothermal area, located at The Geysers Geothermal Field, and has been in production for several decades. Further, the Project is expected to increase deliveries of RPS eligible energy through development of additional steam xxxxx.
Quality of Renewable Resource. The Project is located in a well-known and highly predictable wind resource area. NextEra conducted an independent wind resource evaluation of the Project site using Windlogic and internal models. NextEra’s wind data was supplemented with regional wind data from which NextEra determined the net capacity factor available for the Project area.
Quality of Renewable Resource. The Project features a new, promising concentrating solar thermal power tower technology that combines efficient generation of electricity from steam (due to higher temperature steam production and low water usage) with thermal storage for an improved generation profile.
Quality of Renewable Resource. The Project will be located in a well-known and highly predictable solar resource area as documented by NREL data. Please see Confidential Appendix A for more information about the site’s solar resources.
Quality of Renewable Resource. The Project receives sufficient flow upstream from the following diversions: Xxxxxxx Creek, Mud Creek, Middle Creek and Rock Creek. In addition, the Project has a silt pond reservoir with approximately 15 acre-feet holding capacity.
Quality of Renewable Resource. The Project is in a well known and highly predictable wind resource area. Multiple wind projects are already operating in the area among them are wind projects located in the Montezuma Hills including: Shiloh I (Iberdrola), Xxxxxx XX (enXco), and High Winds Energy Center (Iberdrola). Additionally, the Montezuma wind project (NextEra) is in the Montezuma Hills and currently under construction.

Quality of Renewable Resource. The counterparty employed BEW Engineering who analyzed the solar resource potential. BEW Engineering confirmed that the resource potential adequately supports the Project. Additional information is included in Confidential Appendix A.
The solar resource in the area of the Project is generally considered good for solar energy generation. The solar resource was modeled using a third-party solar modeling application, PVSyst V5.60 (“PVSyst”). PVSyst used meteorological solar resource data from appropriate weather stations, module specifications for a Tier 1 manufacturer and time of day orientation provided by single axis tracking to calculate the average amount of energy expected to be generated by the Project. Not applicable. b. For biomass projects, please provide a fuel resource analysis and the developer’s fuel supply plan. Identify: i. From whom/where the fuel is being secured; and ii. Where the fuel is being stored c. Explain whether the IOU believes that the Project will be able meet the terms of the contract given its independent understanding of the quality of the renewable resource. If necessary, reference successful nearby projects, completed studies, and/or other information. PG&E believes that the Project will be able to meet the terms of the contract as the solar data and modeling software used to calculate expected generation are industry standard.
Quality of Renewable Resource. The Project is in a very high solar insolation region. This is supported by current deliveries from the Sempra El Dorado and Copper Mountain 1 solar PV Projects. In addition, the CMS has gathered its own solar insolation data on-site to confirm the solar resource. The solar studies conducted for the Project support the contract capacity factor of 23.1%, producing approximately 303 GWh. The Boulder City energy zone where the Project is located is recognized in the solar industry as ideal for solar generation, having the potential for significant renewable energy production.
