Tier 1 definition

Tier 1 means the portion of the design-related information contained in the generic DCD that is approved and certified by this appendix (Tier 1 information). The design descriptions, interface requirements, and site parameters are derived from Tier 2 information. Tier 1 information includes:
Tier 1 means the retirement plan available to a member under this act who was first employed and entered upon the payroll before March 31, 1997 and who does not elect to become a qualified participant of Tier 2.

More Definitions of Tier 1

Tier 1. Wire Centers are those Embarq Wire Centers that contain at least four Fiber- based Collocators, at least 38,000 Business Lines, or both. Tier 1 Wire Centers also are those Embarq tandem switching locations that have no line-side switching facilities, but nevertheless serve as a point of traffic aggregation accessible by competitive LECs. Once a Wire Center is determined to be a Tier 1 Wire Center, that Wire Center is not subject to later reclassification as a Tier 2 or Tier 3 Wire Center.
Tier 1 means a defendant:
