Common use of Reappointment Clause in Contracts

Reappointment. Neither the GME Contract nor Resident’s appointment hereunder constitutes a benefit, promise, or other commitment that Resident will be appointed for a period beyond the termination date of the GME Contract. Reappointment and/or promotion to the next level of training is at the sole discretion of the Residency Program and is expressly contingent upon several factors, including: (i) satisfactory completion of all training components; (ii) the availability of a position; (iii) satisfactory performance evaluations; (iv) full compliance with the terms of the GME Contract; (v) the continuation of UCMC’s and Residency Program’s accreditation by the ACGME; (vi) UCMC’s financial ability; and (vii) furtherance of the Residency Program’s objectives.
