PROTECTION OF TEACHERS A. The Board recognizes its responsibility to give all reasonable support and assistance to teachers with respect to the maintenance of control and discipline in the classroom.

All Education Assistants employed by the Board to assist teachers in carrying out their responsibilities and duties under the School Act and Regulations shall be assigned to classes and/or students by the Principal and shall be assigned specific duties by the teacher during the designated periods of time.

Other Assistance Assist SBEs in their efforts to obtain bonds, lines of credit and insurance. (Note that the Agency has a Surety Bond Program that may assist SBEs in obtaining necessary bonding.) Teaching Assistants 1. All Teaching Assistants shall receive the same remuneration per base unit and the difference between the amount paid a Graduate Teaching Assistant and other Teaching Assistants is an associated scholarship. See XIII D. for appropriate compensation.
Educational Assistants Teachers are responsible to assign instructional duties to Educational Assistants who are allocated to students in their classroom by the Principal.
HELP FOR PERSONS AFFECTED BY ALCOHOL AND/OR OTHER DRUGS The OH&S Committee and management will provide information and assistance to persons seeking help for alcohol/drug problems or related problems, confidentially and without prejudice. • Sick leave or leave without pay may be negotiated to enable participation in rehabilitation or counselling. • No-one will be disadvantaged in the workplace as a result of undertaking a rehabilitation program.
RECOGNITION OF THE UNION 1.
