RECOGNITION AND ANTI-DISCRIMINATION. Section 1. The City has recognized the Association as the exclusive bargaining agent for a unit consisting of all sworn certified full-time paid employees who regularly serve in a professional law enforcement capacity within the City's Police Department, except the Police Chief. Bargaining Unit employees will be referred to in this Agreement as "Officers" or "employee." Section 2. The employer shall not discriminate against any employee because of his or her membership or non-membership in the Association; because of any assertion of his or her rights as a member of the Association, either individually or by a third party on that employee’s behalf; or because of such employee's race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, pregnancy, or genetic information.
