RECOGNITION OF TIKANGA MĀORI AND TE REO MĀORI SKILLS. In recognition of tikanga Māori and te reo Māori skills, the employer shall, for remuneration purposes, take into account proficiency in te reo Māori and tikanga Māori where the needs of the job require such skills. Where employees are called on by Lincoln University to use tikanga Māori, te Reo Māori or other language skills or cultural protocols in circumstances outside of their job requirements and where such duties are above and beyond the normal requirements of the employee, Lincoln University will recognise such contributions within the performance appraisal and salary review/promotions process or as professional development.
