Common use of Reemployment from Layoff Clause in Contracts

Reemployment from Layoff. 20.3.1 An employee on a reemployment list may decline three (3) offers of reemployment in former class and/or status. After third refusal, no additional offers need be made and the employee shall be considered unavailable. 20.3.2 Refusal of an offer of short-term or limited part-time employment shall not affect the standing of any employee on a layoff list. 20.3.3 Employees on reemployment lists shall be eligible to compete in promotional examinations for which they qualify. Under the provisions of Education Code Sections 45298 and 45308, employees on a reemployment list have preferential reemployment rights over any outside applicants to available positions for which they are qualified.
