Reference to Association Clause Samples
The 'Reference to Association' clause defines how and when a contract or document refers to a specific association, such as a trade group, standards body, or professional organization. Typically, this clause clarifies whether references to the association include its current and future rules, standards, or membership, and may specify how changes in the association's name or structure affect the agreement. Its core function is to ensure that all parties have a clear and consistent understanding of which association is being referenced and how its evolving standards or identity impact the contract, thereby preventing ambiguity or disputes over interpretation.
