Reinstatement after Reduction in Force. ‌ If a vacancy occurs after a reduction in force, the Employer agrees to fill the vacancy by first offering the position to the laid off employee with the greatest total district seniority provided the employee possesses the necessary skills, abilities and qualifications to perform the essential functions of the position. An employee offered employment will have five (5) calendar days (excluding Saturday, Sunday, and holidays) from the receipt of the written offer or fifteen (15) calendar days (excluding Saturday, Sunday, and holidays) from the date of mailing, whichever occurs first, to accept the position in person or in writing.
