Relief Charge Nurse. A nurse who is assigned by the Medical Center to assist and coordinate in the continuity of patient care responsibilities and clinical activities of an organized nursing unit, including providing patient care. The Medical Center will identify nurses who are willing to voluntarily assume the role of relief charge nurse on an on-going basis. The parties acknowledge, however, that there may be unusual and infrequent situations when the Medical Center will assign such duties to other nurses.
