Common use of Repayment of Overpayment Clause in Contracts

Repayment of Overpayment. In the event of an overpayment to a unit member, the District agrees to make every effort to work out an acceptable repayment plan with the affected employee. If the overpayment is for an amount more than $100, and the employee and District are unable to agree on a repayment plan, the District agrees not to withhold more than ten percent (10%) of the amount owed from each paycheck (excluding summer pay) until such overpayment is repaid. Any payroll error resulting in insufficient payment for a unit member shall be corrected, and a supplemental check issued, within five (5) days after discovery of the error or the unit member provides notice to the payroll department, whichever occurs first.
