Coaching Assignments. Faculty who are head coaches or assistant coaches of an intercollegiate sport may be required to conduct practice prior to the first duty day of the fall or spring semesters. The season of each intercollegiate sport (when practice scrimmages may begin, when games or meets may begin, when conference competition ends and when postIconference competition ends) will be designated by the Community College League of California’s Commission on Athletics (COA). The schedule and number of hours of practice shall be determined by the appropriate administrator, after consultation with head coaches. Basketball shall be considered inIseason during Fall semester. All faculty who are head coaches will be compensated for the sport season by placement on the Added Responsibility Schedule as set forth in Section 6.14 and by assignment of a load for coaching the sport season as set forth in the table below. All faculty who are assistant head coaches will be compensated for the sport season by placement on the Added Responsibility Schedule if applicable and by assignment of a load for coaching the sport season as set forth in the table below. FullItime faculty who are head coaches or assistant head coaches will be paid this load at their contract rate. PartItime faculty who are head coaches or assistant head coaches will be paid this load at their hourly teaching rate as shown in Salary Schedule BI3. Compensation for the season for all sports except football includes payment for all inIseason activities (including varsity PE classes and including 15 hours of inIseason practice not occurring during the semester) as well as postIseason recruitment activities. The compensation for playoff competition, if any, will be paid separately as defined in 6.15.4. Coaching Assignments. From time to time, following an Assignment Consultation, Citizens may provide a Leader or Team Coaching Assignment to Vendor. Citizens will provide each Coaching Assignment pursuant to a Purchase Order. Each Purchase Order will specify that it is a Leader or Team Coaching Assignment, the Services included in the Assignment, and the Coach, the Leader, and the Team (if applicable). Vendor is not authorized to commence a Coaching Assignment unless and until Citizens issues a Purchase Order. Citizens will not provide compensation for Services except as pre-authorized pursuant to a Purchase Order. If the Citizens’ Contract Manager identifies a need for additional Services during a Coaching Assignment, the additional Services are not authorized by Citizens until the issuance of an amended Purchase Order describing such additional Services. Vendor acknowledges that Citizens does not in any way represent or guarantee that Vendor will receive any specific or minimum volume of Coaching Assignments under this Agreement. At its sole discretion, Citizens will assign Coaching Assignments to vendors based on, as solely determined by Citizens, vendor performance, capability, and capacity.
Coaching Assignments. Recommendations for coaching assignments are primarily the responsibility of the Athletic Director. Notification of head coaching assignments to the same position will normally take place within four (4) weeks of the completion of current coaching duties. If more time is taken, the reasons, upon written request by the coach, shall be given. When more than one (1) applicant applies for a Schedule B Coaching assignment, interviews will be held, upon the written request of internal applicants.
Coaching Assignments. Teachers and instructional assistants shall be placed on the appropriate step of the extra-curricular salary schedule according to the following guidelines:
A. Head Coaches shall be placed according to the number of years they have worked in the sport as a head or assistant coach in that sport. This experience need not be at Homewood- Flossmoor School District and is at the discretion of the Athletic Director, the Administration, and/or Board.
B. Assistant Coaches shall be placed according to the number of years they have worked in the sport. This experience need not be at Homewood-Flossmoor School District and is at the discretion of the Athletic Director, Administration, and/or Board.
C. Coaches who have general coaching experience and move into coaching a different sport shall be placed at the step equal to one-half (1/2) the total years of athletic coaching experience.
Coaching Assignments. As agreed to by the Board and the Association, all interscholastic activities shall be evaluated annually in June by a committee of coaches, athletic directors, and assistant athletic directors. Each interscholastic athletic activity shall be evaluated in terms of the prescribed criteria and rating factors. The results of this evaluation shall be submitted to the Superintendent and the Association and shall determine each coach's classification/salary for the ensuing school year. Any coach, dissatisfied with his/her classification, may appeal through established procedures.
Coaching Assignments. Appointment to coaching positions shall be made in the sole discretion of the Board upon recommendation by the Superintendent of Schools. Appointment to coaching positions shall be made by the Board upon recommendation by the Superintendent of Schools and/or Athletic Director utilizing the following criteria:
a. Fulfillment of coaching certification requirements;
b. Knowledge concerning the particular sport;
c. Coaching and motivational skills;
d. Leadership skills;
e. Ability to manage a team;
Coaching Assignments. Coaches will be notified thirty (30) days prior to the beginning of their sports season if they are to continue in the same capacity. Earlier notification of a tentative nature will be made when possible. Individuals will be notified as soon as possible if a tentative appointment is changed.
Coaching Assignments. A stipend of $1,050 per season will be allowed the coach and $800 the assistant coach for each CIF* and Intramural sport supervised that is in addition to their regular teaching load. The assignment may be after academic hours. CIF and Intramural coaches and assistant coaches shall meet the training and certification requirements of CIF.
Coaching Assignments. Appendix C The Board reserves the right to adjust the number of positions each year in the categories below, including a decrease to zero, dependent upon the need, the number of students involved, and at the sole discretion of the Board. Category 1 coaches will be capped at 20% unless approved by the board of education. Except for good cause, coaches in this Category 1 will receive a .5% increase in the range at the completion of each season. Coaching Assignments. A committee consisting of the Superintendent or his designee, the faculty manager, and an Association representative shall write criteria establishing minimum qualifications for appointment to coaching positions. Either the Board or the Association may request revision of the minimum qualifications. The committee's criteria (and revisions) must be agreed upon by the respective negotiating teams before implementation. The Superintendent shall notify the President of the Association, in writing, of all the recommendations to the Board for appointments to coaching positions for the following year. This notification shall be sent (via email) at the same time as the Board of Education packets are mailed. If recommendations are added after this time, notification will be made by phone. If no faculty member(s) applies for a coaching position or if no faculty member(s) who has applied meets the minimum qualifications for the position, a non-unit person who meets the minimum qualifications may be appointed.
