Representation Fee. A. If a Professional Staff member does not become a member of the Federation dur- ing any membership year (from September 1 to the following August 31) which is covered by this Agreement, said Professional Staff member will be required to pay a representation fee to the Federation for the membership year. Inasmuch as the terms of this Agreement have been made for all employees in the bargaining unit, and all employees derive benefits hereunder, it is fair that each employee in the bargaining unit assume his/her equal share of the obligation along with the grant of equal benefits contained in this ArticleAgreement. Employees who choose not to use the payroll deductions will pay dues and assessment, representation fees, or the mechanics for charitable contribution in a lump sum in, cash by September 15 of each year of employment, or the deduction prorated amount within ten (10) days of representation fees and employment if hired after the transmission of such fees to the Federation will, as nearly as possible, be the same as those used for the deduction and transmission of regular membership dues to the Federation.
E. September pay period. The Federation Association will notify the Board in writing District of any changes such payments within twenty (20) days of the payment. On or before August 15 of each school year the Association shall give written notice to the District of the dollar amount of dues and assessments of the Association and its affiliates, including the National Education Association and the Washington Education Association, which dues are to be deducted in the list provided coming year under payroll deduction. On or about the last day of each monthestablished annual rate, beginning with the month this Agreement becomes effectiveSeptember pay period, a deduction shall be made from each monthly pay warrant in equal amounts as authorized by RCW 41.59.100 for: dues and assessments, representation fees, or charitable contributions. These deductions will continue through the Board will submit pay period, and shall each year be deducted according to the Federation annual rate for that year from each monthly warrant so authorized. Employees who begin work after the September pay period shall have either a dues and assessment, or representation fee, or charitable contribution deducted from each monthly pay warrant as authorized by RCW 41.59.100, based upon a prorated share of the balance remaining from the current annual rate for said employment and shall continue at the established annual rate in the following years. In the event Teamster Local 11 fails to maintain such a system, or if membership is not so available, the Employer shall immediately cease making said deductions.
I. The Federation Union shall indemnify and save the Board Employer harmless from any and all claims, demands, suits, or any other action arising from claims raised against it by an employee as a result of fulfilling its obligations under this Article.

If a Professional Staff faculty member does not declines to become a member of the Federation dur- ing Association during any membership year (from September 1 to the following August 31) which is covered by this Agreement, said Professional Staff faculty member will be required to pay a representation fee to the Federation Association for the that membership year. The purpose of this fee will be to offset the per capita cost of services rendered by the Association as major- ity majority representative.
B. Prior to the beginning of each membership year, the Federation Association will notify the Board in writing of the amount of the regular membership dues, initiation fees and as- sessments assessments charged by the Federation Association to its own members for the membership year. The representation fee is set at 85% of the amount of the regular membership dues, initiation fees and assessments charged by the Federation Association as allowed by law.
C. Once during each membership year covered in whole or in part by this Agreement, the Federation Association will submit to the Board a list of those professional staff faculty members who have not become members of the Federation Association for the then current membership yearyear . The Board will deduct the representation fee in equal installments, as nearly as possible, from the paychecks paid to each professional staff faculty member who is not a member of the FederationAssociation.
D. Except where as otherwise provided in this Article, the mechanics for the deduction of representation fees and the transmission of such fees to the Federation Association will, as nearly as possible, be the same as those used for the deduction and transmission of regular membership dues to the FederationAssociation.
E. The Federation Association will notify the Board in writing of any changes in the list provided for in paragraph A C. above and/or the amount of the representation fee, and such changes will be reflected in any deductions made more than 30 days after the Board receives said notice.
F. On or about the last day of each month, beginning with the month this Agreement becomes effective, the Board will submit to the Federation Association a list of all employees who began their employment in the a bargaining unit position during the preceding 30 day perioddays. The list will include names, job titles titles, and dates of employment for all such employees. This list will also include any change in employment status.
G. The Federation Association shall indemnify and save the Board harmless from any and all claims, demands, suits, or any other action arising from this Article.
