Common use of Required Absences Clause in Contracts

Required Absences. An employee who is required to be absent because of jury duty, subpoena or quarantine (identified by the Medical Officer of Health) shall not be subject to loss of pay or deduction from sick leave credits. An employee who is on jury duty or subpoenaed shall tender all monies received from the proceedings to the Board less such amount as is intended for mileage and other stated expenses, in order to qualify for payment as set out herein.
