Responsibility for Personal Property. I acknowledge and agree that I am fully and solely responsible for any of my property and personal belongings that I bring onto the Premises and that Owner will not be responsible for or provide any security for my property and personal belongings.
Responsibility for Personal Property. The University does not assume responsibility for loss of or damage to a resident’s personal property. Students are strongly encouraged to have renters' insurance or financial protection on their property to cover such losses.
Responsibility for Personal Property. (1) Students are encouraged to maintain appropriate insurance to cover personal belongings (i.e., clothing, personal furniture, electrical equipment, etc.) via parent’s homeowner’s or renter’s insurance. While every effort is made to ensure adequate maintenance and security, LaGrange College, its employees, hired contractors, or agents do not assume any legal obligation to pay for the loss of or damage to items of personal property due to flood, fire, natural disaster, theft, or any other reason not the fault of the institution, which occurs in its buildings or on its grounds.
Responsibility for Personal Property. The College and the Office of Residential Education and Dining Services assume no liability for theft, damage or loss of money, valuables or other personal effects of any Student or guest caused by fire, water, steam, insufficient heat, power failure, the elements, neglect, theft, or the actions of a third party that occur in College housing or on College property. Students are encouraged to confirm that their property is covered by their family’s homeowners’ insurance or to carry personal property insurance.
Responsibility for Personal Property. ‘University’ assumes no responsibility for theft, destruction, or loss of money, valuables, or other property belonging to, or in custody of, ‘Student’ for any cause whatsoever, whether such losses occur in living spaces, storage rooms, public areas, elsewhere in the accommodation, or in baggage related to shipment or storage. ‘Student’ is encouraged to carry personal property insurance. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the foregoing ‘Housing License Agreement,’ personal property of any kind that remains in a room after ‘Student’ has checked out or after the halls have been closed will be considered abandoned property. ‘University’ assumes no responsibility for abandoned property and will dispose of such items in accordance with MTSU Policy 685 (Disposal of Surplus Property). Items considered to be of substantial value may be held for up to 30 days. Any applicable cleaning, packing, or storage charges will be assessed to ‘Student’s’ account. In the event ‘Student’ (1) withdraws from classes at ‘University,’ (2) has his/her license agreement terminated, or (3) is otherwise relocated (from building to building, from room to room, from side to side, or within the designated area assigned), ‘University’ shall have the right to remove ‘Student’s’ personal property and store the belongings. Notice will be given to ‘Student’ and shall be deemed appropriate when delivered by hand or sent to ‘Student’s’ University- issued email address and/ or permanent address (postal). This notice will take effect three (3) days after any hand delivery and/or email notice or six (6) days after the date of mailing. Packing and storage shall be at the expense of ‘Student’, and ‘University’ shall not be responsible for any personal property that is lost, stolen, or damaged during packing or storage. Stored items may be held up to thirty (30) days before disposal.
Responsibility for Personal Property. The resident assumes all responsibility for personal property and is strongly encouraged to provide his or her own personal property loss insurance/renters insurance. The University does not assume any legal obligation for any resident’s personal property that may be lost or damaged in its buildings or on its grounds. “Abandonment,” as used in the contract, means that (1) the resident appears to have moved out in the University’s reasonable judgment because of substantial removal of clothes, furniture or personal belongings from the housing unit and/or (2) the date by which the Contract obligates the Resident to leave such room has passed. If there has been an abandonment of the room, the University will remove and/or store all property remaining in the room or common area at the Resident’s expense. The University reserves the right throw away perishable items (food, medicine, or plants) or items deemed worthless in the University’s reasonable judgment. All other property removed and stored by the University shall, after 30 days, become the property of the University to be either used or disposed of in accordance with policies and procedures. The University will charge the resident a fee for storage of items that is equal to the amount of storage fees incurred by the University.

Responsibility for Personal Property. The University does not assume responsibility for and Guest hereby expressly releases the University from any and all liability related to: • Loss or damage to articles of personal property that occurs in its buildings or on its grounds. Guests are encouraged to carry appropriate insurance to cover such losses. • Power outages including those that result in the loss of stored computer memory, data, and/or files or voltage spikes or surges which damage computers or any appliance. Guests are encouraged to use voltage surge protectors. Responsibility for Room Space Each Guest is responsible for the condition of their assigned space and shall reimburse the University for all damage including loss of fixtures, furnishings, or properties furnished under this AGREEMENT. Removal of University furniture from any space is prohibited. No alterations are to be made to the furniture or fixtures provided by the University. Additional furnishings brought in must be freestanding and clear of all existing fixtures, furniture or walls. Guest acknowledges and understands that (a) the assigned space is located in a climate in which temperatures, humidity, and other naturally occurring conditions normally allow the growth of mold and mildew in locations where dampness or moisture are present; and (b) upon moving into the assigned space, Guest will have control over and knowledge concerning conditions in the interior of the assigned space.
Responsibility for Personal Property. Mines shall not be liable for damage to or destruction of any personal property kept on the Premises, unless such loss is caused by its gross negligence. Therefore, the Resident is strongly encouraged to insure their personal belongings with an appropriate insurance policy. Mines has the right to require Residents to clear outside premises of personal belongings. Failure to comply will result in removal of items by Mines.
