Common use of RESTORATION OF CUMULATIVE SICK LEAVE BALANCES Clause in Contracts

RESTORATION OF CUMULATIVE SICK LEAVE BALANCES. Employees laid off due to a reduction in force who are, within three (3) years of the date of layoff, returned to County service from layoff status shall have the balance of unused cumulative sick leave accrued pursuant to subsection 14.D. (Cumulative Sick Leave Plan), restored to them for use as provided in this subsection. An employee, as defined in subsection 14.B. (Employee Defined), who separates from the County and is reinstated/rehired, for any reason other than lay-off (see above), by the County within one (1) year from the date of separation, shall have previously accrued and unused paid sick days reinstated up to a maximum of twenty-four (24) hours. The employee shall be entitled to use the reinstated accrued and unused paid sick days as stated above.
