Retention Increases Sample Clauses
The 'Retention Increases' clause defines the circumstances under which the amount of money withheld (retention) from payments to a contractor or service provider may be raised during the course of a project. Typically, this clause outlines specific triggers—such as missed deadlines, quality issues, or other performance concerns—that justify increasing the retention percentage or amount. By establishing clear conditions for adjusting retention, the clause incentivizes compliance with contract terms and protects the paying party from potential risks associated with underperformance or non-completion.
