RETIREMENT GRATUITIES. Retirement Gratuity entitlements applicable at each DHB are as set out below. (This clause does not apply to Hawke’s Bay or Taranaki, which previously made compensatory payments to their employees when this provision was bought out.) Gratuity payments are calculated using the scale set out at the end of this clause. Except for Hutt Valley, retirement for the purposes of this clause is the permanent cessation of regular paid employment. Except for Hutt Valley, an employee may retire: (a) Voluntarily; (b) On medical grounds (requires a medical certificate from a doctor acceptable to the DHB); (c) By agreement between the DHB and the employee.
