Rights of Employees on Pregnancy or Parental Leave. (a) If an employee is entitled to parental or pregnancy leave and the child to whom the leave relates is hospitalized for a period exceeding or likely to exceed one week, the employee is entitled to return to and resume work and defer the unused portion of leave until the child is discharged from the hospital, upon giving the Employer reasonable notice. (i) When an Employee reports for work upon the expiration of the period referred to in Articles 20.01 or 20.03 she shall resume work with the same designation, she held prior to the commencement of the leave, with no loss of benefits accrued to the commencement of the leave. (ii) During the period of leave, the Employer will pay its agreed portion of the benefit plan premiums if the employee chooses to pay her share of the agreed portion of the deductions. (c) While on pregnancy or parental leave, an employee shall continue to accrue and accumulate seniority credits and service for the duration of the leave and her service and seniority shall be deemed to be continuous.

(ii) During the period of leave, the Employer will pay its agreed portion of the benefit plan premiums if the employee chooses to pay her share of the agreed portion of the deductions.
(c) While on pregnancy or parental leave, an employee shall continue to accrue and accumulate service and seniority credits and service for the duration of the leave and her service and seniority shall be deemed to be continuous.
(d) While an employee is on pregnancy or parental leave, the Employer shall maintain coverage for medical, extended health, group life and any other employee benefit plan and shall continue to pay its share of premium costs for maintaining such coverage during the period of leave.
