Common use of Safe Equipment Clause in Contracts

Safe Equipment. The City shall furnish and maintain in good working condition, within the limits of its financial capability, the necessary tools, facilities, vehicles, supplies and equipment required for employees to safely carry out their duties. Employees are responsible for reporting unsafe conditions or practices, for avoiding negligence, and for properly using and caring for tools, facilities, vehicles, supplies and equipment provided by the City. The City may require an employee to restore or replace any item lost or damaged due to the employee's negligence. Willful or negligent destruction of any tools, clothing, facilities, supplies or equipment shall be grounds for disciplinary action.
