Salary Considerations. 1. The need for a substitute may be the result of an administrative request. a. In situations where a classroom teacher serves as a substitute for one half hour or less, the substitute shall receive $10.00 for that assignment. In situations where a classroom teacher serves as a substitute for more than one-half hour and up to one hour, the substitute shall receive $20.00 for the assignment. b. Any teacher required to incorporate part of a class into their primary classroom due to the absence of another teacher shall be compensated at 1/6 the daily substitute teacher rate divided by the number of teachers used to cover the absence per hour of coverage. 2. The committee must be approved in advance by the superintendent or designee to qualify for payment. A form will be provided for that purpose. Teachers will keep a log of committee work that exceeds the negotiated contractual day, and will have the log signed by the applicable administrator. b. Payment for committee work will be according to the following schedule: i. Payment for 1st semester committee work will be submitted by December 1 and be paid in the December payroll. ii.
