Common use of Salary on Voluntary Demotion Clause in Contracts

Salary on Voluntary Demotion. A nurse who takes a voluntary demotion shall retain his/her present salary unless that salary exceeds the maximum rate of pay for the position in which case the nurse's salary shall be adjusted to the new maximum. However, a nurse may continue to receive a rate of pay in excess of the salary range maximum upon the recommendation of the Appointing Authority and approval of the Commissioner of Minnesota Management & Budget.
