Scheduling Vacation Leave. Annual vacation leave shall be taken at such time as the Sheriff directs and is subject to his administrative discretion. All vacation leaves must be requested and authorized on a form designated by the Sheriff. A. Each member shall be granted one primary time off request, which may include any combination of accrued vacation, personal, or compensatory leave, based on seniority. Such request is to be submitted by January 31st of the year of request. Effective January 1st of each year of this agreement, between June 1st and September 1st, all primary time off requests will be limited to eighty (80) hours of time off. B. Leave requests submitted under this section for which the employee will not have sufficient accrued balance at the time it would be used shall be clearly marked by the member as either "primary" or "secondary" time off.
