Section XXIII. 4. Vacation can be granted in increments of time of one hour or more. Written requests for vacation shall be made by the employee and approved by the Chief. Any vacation leave request shall be received by the Chief no later than 12:00 (NOON) on the employee's shift prior to the date of the vacation request. Vacation approval shall be on a first come first serve basis. Emergency vacation can be granted by the Fire Chief or designee.
