Common use of Seniority Blocks Expansion of Operation Clause in Contracts

Seniority Blocks Expansion of Operation. It is mutually agreed by the parties that, where operational changes or expansion in the Employer's enterprises result in a new area of operation, the parties shall meet to determine whether a new seniority block has occurred. If this issue and its effect on the application of other provisions in this agreement cannot be mutually agreed upon, then the matters may proceed to arbitration pursuant to Article 9. This clause is not intended to supersede the provisions of Section 35 of the Labour Relations Code.
